Never thought I would ever become a victim of these hackers/scammers!
May 4, 2018, I received an email from paypal stating about a complete purchase I’m not familiar with. I remember signing up for paypal way back 2013, but i rarely used it to purchase anything. So I thought that it was just a phishing email.
After a couple of hours, I received 3 more notifications, followed by an email stating that I changed my password in my account. Later that night I had to withdraw money from my Eastwest account and then I was shocked to find out that I only have little remaining balance which I’m sure was not correct. I immediately checked my account statement online and found out that there were a total of 4 unfamiliar transactions made. I was skeptical on to how the scammer did it because my ATM is with me, and I also seldom use it. That’s when I remember the paypal email messages I received.
I started trying to retrieve my password because the scammer changed it, and in the first place, I already forgot my password because I don’t really use it. After I successfully logged on to my account I found these:

The purchase was addressed to GERALD SANTOS and the Shipping address is at BLock 11 Lot 5 West Drive Subd santa Rosa Laguna, 4026 PHILIPPINES.
I cant believe how this kind of people sleep at night. How they rob hardworking people’s money. Aside from that, I can’t understand how PayPal and Eastwest Bank allowed the transactions without asking for OTP. They should have known better. Other banks would normally ask for OTP before completing transactions for security reasons.
I already reported this case. Eastwest Bank told me that it will take 45 banking days for the investigation with no guarantee, after I submit necessary documents but until now, I still haven’t received the email for the documents needed as promised by their Agent DARA on the night it happened/I reported it.
I also reported the case to PayPal but until now, there’s still no response.
I really hope that my money will be given back to me in no time. I’ll give you an update on how the report will go.
So if you have anything similar with the same name and address, report it! This world should be a safe place.
